Alcro Bestå Täckfärg Trä 3 litre is an acrylic top coat for exterior wood. It is very durable and elastic.
CLEANING AND PREPARING THE SURFACE. Sand shiny, hard and smooth surfaces, as well as sharp corners and edges, with coarse-grade sandpaper. Grey, porous wood or loose paint has to be scraped or brushed down to a clean and sound surface. Brush all surface areas to remove dust and dirt. PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES: Wash with Delfin Grovrent. Remove mould, mildew and algae growth with Delfin Alg & Mögeltvätt. Thick and cracked layers of paint have to be completely removed. When repainting exteriors in poor condition, you have to prime the entire surface with Bestå Grundfärg. If you are painting over surfaces covered with old alkyd paint or oil paint, prime first with Bestå Grundfärg, followed by a coat of Bestå Täckfärg. When painting landmark buildings of historical value, we recommend using the same type of paint that was originally used on the exterior. NEW UNFINISHED WOOD AND BARE WOOD SURFACES: First oil the ends of boards and panel joints with a generous amount of Bestå Grundolja. Wipe away excess oil, waiting a minimum of 30 minutes before wiping but no longer than 2-3 days. Then prime the entire exterior and ends of boards with a generous coat of Bestå Grundfärg. FACTORYPRIMED WOOD: You might need to prime the wood again. Ask your local Alcro distributor or store for advice. IRON AND RUSTY ZINC SURFACES: Prime with Roststopp.
PAINTING. Apply two coats of Bestå Täckfärg. Be extra thorough when painting ends of boards and joints, and over nailheads. Two coats will always give you a finish that is more durable and longer lasting. NOTE: Stir the paint well before use. The surface has to be dry when you paint (maximum moisture ratio of 16%). Do not paint coats that are too thin. Use a generous, flowing amount of paint as recommended. Do not paint on surfaces that have been heated by the sun. Do not paint if there is a risk for rain in the next 24 hours, or if dew will form on the surface within 1-2 hours after you finish painting.
