Alcro Modern Oljefärg 1 litre is a waterborne alkyd finish paint fortified with acrylic. The paint is used to paint wooden exteriors and other outdoor woodwork such as fences, barge boards and doors. Modern Oljefärg works best in combination with System Grundfärg and Grundolja.
CLEANING AND PREPARING THE SURFACE. Round off sharp corners and edges. Sand hard and smooth surfaces with sandpaper. Grey, porous wood or loose paint has to be scraped or brushed down to a clean and sound surface. Brush all surface areas clean until all dust and dirt is removed. PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES: Wash with Delfin Grovrent. Remove mould, mildew and algae growth with Delfin Alg & Mögeltvätt. Thick and cracked layers of paint have to be completely removed. When painting exterior wood in poor condition, you must first prime the entire surface with System Grundfärg. NEW UNFINISHED WOOD AND BARE WOOD SURFACES: You have to prime the surface with System Grundfärg. WOODEN SECTIONS AND PARTS EXPOSED TO MOISTURE (JOINTS, WOOD-ENDS): Treat these first with System Grundolja (only unpainted wood), then prime with System Grundfärg. FACTORY-PRIMED WOOD: You might need to prime the wood again. Ask your local Alcro distributor or store for advice.
PAINTING. Apply two coats of Modern Oljefärg. Cover ends of boards and joints thoroughly with the paint. For the best results, use a paintbrush that is soft and completely synthetic. NOTE: Stir the paint well before use. The surface has to be dry when you paint (maximum moisture ratio of 16%). Do not paint coats that are too thin. Use a generous, flowing amount of paint as recommended. Do not paint on surfaces that have been heated by the sun. Do not paint if there is a risk for rain in the next 24 hours, or if dew will form on the surface within 1-2 hours after you finish painting.
