Who are Farrow & Ball?

Paint pioneers John Farrow and Richard Ball founded the company in 1946. They met while working at a local clay pit and later went on to build their first factory in Dorset.

In January 2010 they made the bold decision to move their entire range of paints away from oil based to water based finishes with low or minimal VOC content.

This was a forward thinking move, affirming their ongoing commitment towards helping the environment we live in, and once again putting us ahead of the competition.

Farrow & Ball paints are born and bred in Dorset, England. They have resided there since John Farrow, and fellow paint pioneer, Richard Ball founded the company in 1946. Their passion for making paint to original formulations, using only the finest ingredients, is matched by today’s craftsmen.
